driveshaft problem...

Just pulled my driveshaft off to put in new universal joints. The rear joints went in no problem but the fronts which connect the yoke to the tranny wont fit for ****... seems the holes are too small by just a bit to get the new joints in place. Is there different universdals for the front and back? I went to 2 stores today looking for joints figuring maby I recieved 1 wrong joint but no go it was the same size. I know the joints need to be pressed in but the hole is way too small even to be pressed.I just cleaned the yoke abit to get rid of years of crud that I thought might be the problem but still no go, before I send the yoke to the machinist anybody have any suggestions?? let me know thanks...
