SignUp Now!I hope not.It seems like it's hitting something one it goes in about 2 inches.Transmission shop put in a different tail shaft than your original??
My yoke looks good.
How can that be fixed? He may have collapsed the leading edge of the tail shaft bushing when he pressed the new one in. It happens when you press the bushing a little crooked when installing.
If you have a spare yoke laying around you could try tapping it in with a mallet to expand the bushing. I have done it with good results. How can that be fixed?

Does your tailshaft on the trans have wide groove on it to help line up the slip yoke?If you have a spare yoke laying around you could try tapping it in with a mallet to expand the bushing. I have done it with good results.

He said there is a groove on the slip yoke not on the tailshaft.Im trying to find out if other TR owners have have grooves on both.Alan answered this ? on post #2....
Thanks.there is no need to index the yoke to the output shaft
there is a spline missing on the yoke (looks like a groove) to prevent the tailshaft from hydrolocking onto the output shaft as the shaft moves in and out with suspension travel
the output shaft has all the splines inplace
Got it to work.Mikestertwo was right about the tailshaft busing being collapsed.I got a extra yoke and beat it in.The driveshaft goes in now but it's leaking trans fluid .Its getting towed tommorow to the trans builder it's his problem now.If it has a billet output shaft it may not work, as some are cnc milled and not broached like factory. Heard horror stories about fitment issues.....
Yep... He told me to tap in the yoke, but instead I knocked the bushing inside the trans. He was able to fix it and now everthing is good so far.Yep builder should have sized the bushing when he installed it,his bad.
