SignUp Now!You can buy an aftermarket 350 turbo yoke and put on your driveshaft with the stock size u joint. I have been told by my local driveline shop not to run a conversion u joint. They are weaker than the 1310 joint you have now. I ran many mid nine second passes with stock size u joints with a trans brake.
My OE yoke is worn out so, I thinking an upgrade is in order. Don't really want to add new ends to my shaft. Is a ductile iron 1310 a good alternative for a mid to low 10 Buick?
Maybe I missed it, where does it say he has a 1310 joint?
On a mid to low 10 buick I wouldn't run a 1310, either stock (3R if I recall correctly) or 1350.
Have you had the DS out lately?? Reason I ask is the stock sized U-joints don't scare me at all, but if you are twisting the yoke that becomes a pain in the ass. If you aren't hitting the driveline hard enough to twist the splines then you aren't going to be hurting the u-joints (assuming we aren't talking about a high mileage stock u-joint).
1310 is the stock size u-joint. summit or jeg's sell strange, hughes, moser or whatever brand 350 turbo yoke you want in a 1310 or stock gn size u-joint.
If you find a aftermarket yoke that works with a stock 3R u-joint PLEASE post it up. I looked for one and couldn't find it anywhere, I personally ended up going to a 1350 Yoke with a 1350-3R conversion U-joint. Not what I wanted to do, but I didn't have the money to build a whole 1350 driveshaft. At least now I have a 1350 yoke for when the time comes and I get a 1350 DS made.
Dude where did you find it?? I couldn't find one about a year ago for mine.
Damn it's way cheaper than the one I got too...Let us know how it holds up, hope it works good for ya.
