Sorry but I didnt get a chance to go. But I do know Don and his son was supposed to go to Barona today to make a few passes..... just wondering how everyone did. So how fast did you run? Did you get all the tranny issues worked out and did your son brake into the 7's?.......:D

The car keeps doing better every time we take it out. The tuneup is still off quite a bit, but it's coming around nicely. Though, the T76 is limiting me to 22 psi boost. It's too small for my setup.

With that said, The first time out with the car, 7.60s. The next time out, 7.10s. This last time out, 6.80s @ 110.9 mph. All with a 60 ft. time of 1.9s. Arrrg  . Yesterday, when I got back to the shop, I started working on the staging tuneup and moving the nitrous application down on the map table so that it would come on around .5 to .6 seconds after going WOT, instead of leaving the line and rolling into the activation. The stall on the converter I'm using is 2440 rpm off boost. At the shop, sitting there with the transbrake on, bringing it up to 2200 staging rpm for a few seconds and then going WOT, I got the tuneup to activate NOS about .55 seconds after going WOT. That should give me activation just around the time the last amber lights up. I have to tell you, sitting there on the transbrake and letting the NOS go off is wicked! I'm still working on the a/f mixture on the NOS and found out yesterday that I was way too rich, pegging the a/f reading. I spent most of the day leaning out the NOS system 3% at a time and re-testing. I'm still in the process of leaning it out and yesterday found some ungodly torque. When I started the testing yesterday at the shop, and the nitrous hit, it would only push the stall to 3200 rpm/119 kPa. I have it at a little over 3900 rpm/149 kPa now and it's still pig rich, still pegging the a/f reading at well below the low 10s to one! I might have to keep it a little on the rich side, just so I don't blow the tires away at the line! I'm really excited about this discovery. I can tailor the launch attitude just by richening or leaning out the NOS system. The trans is bandaided for now, but working. It's frustrating to roll over two brand new HD second gear sprags, both on the first run out, but I think I figured out why it happened and it's been corrected. That was another very interesting discovery. I had a sprag live for over a season of racing and then 2 failures back to back. I finally realized it was caused by something new I was doing with the intermediate pack. Went back to my old setup and so far so good. In the world of racing, if you don't experiment you don't learn, and improve. Sometimes that experimenting takes you back to square one, searching for a different path. You never stop learning in the world of racing.

Chad is close to breaking into the 7s. He didn't take it out this last time. Maybe the next event.

Barona is hopping!
