Is it a good idea to dual feed any performance 200r4?? Is their any negative effects in this mod.Building a low 11 second combination. Thanks for the input

Must use a hardened or billet shafted forward drum when dual feeding is the only down

As turbo nasty mentioned, but you may also experience a slight hang up when cruising under light throttle when car shifts from 2-3. Feels like band has not fully disengaged for a split second. You'll need to open up a hole in the separator plate to .120 to eliminate this. The hole I am referring to is the 3Rd ACC it forces all of the direct accumulator oil through the separator plate orifice. If your planning to use a shift recalibration kit, I believe CK's new kit has the proper opening size and works well with the dual feed mod. Mine is dual feed the 2-3 shift is very fast, very precise. You might as well get the .555 or bigger boost valve, and his new spring he mentioned in a previous post too.

If done right, no down side. Billet or hardened forward drum shaft a must.

I have the billet forward drum on the bench already, just want to build it right the first time;)

The calibration needs to be correct for the dual feed mod.The original apply area is roughly 1/3 of what you get when you dual feed. This is why there are bind ups when it is not done properly. You must increase the flow rate to the clutch and slow down the band release. The original passages werent designed to feed that large of an apply area. Many twist and turns and roads to nowhere in the circuit. If you go back 10 years or so ago when I started this and the way I do it now is totally different. Its been a evolution process that has really improved hi gear. The final changes were the 3/2 control delete I released in Gears Magazine a few years ago.

I wonder if there is any benefit to doing the 3-2 mod on a non dual feed application? Only One of the three 200's that i did the dual fed mod on had the slight hand up at light throttle shift, all used the same plate.
