Duh...how do I install a chip?

Actually, it's true. I have a Thrasher92 sitting in my toolbox (thanks Scott).
I never dropped a chip into a TR, although I've put a few custom PROM's in the 'Stang.
I assume I remove the passenger kick panel. Is there are test port on the EEC, like with Fords? Fords have a rubber plug that you remove, then you clean the contacts with an emory cloth for good connection and plug in your chip. Same with the TR? Any special steps such as a key-on/ignition-off cycle, etc.?
I couldn't find anything on gnttype.org.

Remove the pass kick panel, the whole plastic case that holds the computer will come off. At the bottom (on the back) is a "trap door" that is about 2" tall and 6" wide unscrew the panel and the chip will be right there. Pop it out and stick the other one in. Unplug the orange wire at the battery and plug it back in. Your good to go.

Make sure the ignition switch is off and you should be good to go with the chip change. Just to be ultra safe, you may want to unhook the battery terminal. Either way, unplug the orange wire (should be an inline fuse up by the battery area) and plug it back in like black6pack said. This resets the blm values in the ecm. When you look closely at the pin out side of your chip, you'll notice one side has more and narrower plastic tabs than the other. Obviously, the socket has a similar setup. Pretty foolproof really.

I'm far from a mechanical idiot, but I know you have to be careful not to "zap" something in the ECU when swapping out chips/PROM's.
To be safe, I think I'll disconnect the battery while doing this.
I'll probably order my Scanmaster tomorrow, put on my testpipe next week along with the Thrasher, and be rockin' by the weekend...

The ECM gets it's power from the small fuse on the orange wire on the positive battery cable. Just remove the fuse and change the chip. No need to disco. the entire cable.

Lift with even pressure on both ends of the chip in the socket.
