My new PTC 10" converter just came in the mail today, when I opened the box to removed the converter I heard a noise coming from the inside of the converter. Is the converter supposed to make a noise when you shake it ? When I look inside the hole I see the part that has the female splines moving  is it supposed to ? Be easy on me this is my first time replacing a torque converter and want to make sure nothings is wrong. Thanks, ikle.

Since you said that this is your first time replacing a converter, just be sure you put it on right. Push and rotate the converter to engage input shaft. When you push it on you may think that its on, be sure you rotate the converter while pushing it and you will feel it engage all the way.

Thanks for the info, I'll do that.

Don't forget to add one quart of selected tranny fluid into your new torque converter before installing onto the tranny.
