i want to copy dvd's and blue-ray's. but not sure how. i have a new vista laptop with a dvi and s-video connector. not sure if they are output only, or input also. the dvd drive won't read blue-ray, so i was wanting to hook up the blue ray player to the computer. can i do this?

if not, then what is the favorite dvd copy software?

disclosure: this is not for bootlegging. i have a 4 year old, and want to keep original dvds from getting damaged.

I use DVD Fab 5 Platinum..........works great for me.....you might go to pcworld.com and read some reviews.......lotta good programs out there to copy dvd's.

yeah, that's the problem... too much stuff available. doesn't look like i'll be able to copy the blue-ray's. but i did find a cdfreak forum. it says to use dvdfab hd decoder, and then another program to rebiuld and burn. all for free, so since the computer is new, i'm trying that now. i've looked at a few different paid versions. but it seems that no 2 people are using the same software.
