Hey guys, I am finally getting around to replacing the carpet in my GN. So i figured while I had everyhting taken apart to install dynamat all under the carpet. Ive heard many good reviews from people who have done this.

Any advise or tips from on installing the dynamat from anyone that has done it?

Thanks

I used the original tar stuff with a heat gun and two sized rollers.

Don't do it on a 90 degree summer day.:hungover:

Leave clearance for anything that moves, slides, wires, or bolts in.

I coated my floor pans with chassis saver, and then placed the insulating mat.

You do not have to have 100 per cent coverage. A little over a wide area makes a difference.

I've done a few cars in the dynomat. Just peel and stick. Not very tough. The floors must be clean and if you have any surface rust, address that first. (maybe wire brush and some POR)
If you shop on ebay there are other "brands" of peel and stick sound deadener that are much cheaper and do the same thing.

I also used FatMat brand at about 60% of the cost. Covered all the surfaces like doing a jigsaw puzzle. Overkill? No doubt. Happy with outcome and the product.

Use plastic on your doors iinstead of the crappy paper. Also put it in hour roof. That's the least insulated spot

thanks guys. got a good start on it today. had a little more surface rust than I expected so most of my time was spent with a wire brush and a shop-vac
