So I hear the Dynomax VT mufflers are a drone free muffler. I'm interested in knowing if I were to install one with a 3" inlet/outlet inline with my single shot exhaust, if the interior resonance (drone) would be significantly reduced, if not eliminated all together....?

Has anyone tried a VT muffler inline on a 3" single shot? Please let me know how it's working out for you. Thanks.

yea i did. lets say it is sitting in my storage container... no difference from regular dynomax ultra flow which is sitting beside the vt..

I have !!! drone is GONE !!!! But havent floored it yet.. Blew up the ol 700R4 POS.

Subscribed. Interested to hear more results. I was planning on doing the three muffler system, but if a single shot 3 inch with a VT muffler eliminates drone i would go that route considering the price difference between the two.

Grumpy, the drone comes on at like 1700-2300 rpm. Did your 3 inch straight shot not have any drone between these RPM's with the VT muffler? BTW this is for that straight shot I bought from you 4 years ago w/o the muffler.

I ended up buying the VT from fleebag. So my plan now is to have the 3inch VT about 3 feet after the downpipe feeding into a camaro style Dynomax muffler(single 3'' inlet dual 3'' outlet) at the stock location between fuel tank and rear end. Looking for a shop to do it for me. Ill let you know how it sounds when its done.
