Considering drilling the extra hole in the front cover that Earl recommends, but I have read there are concerns about the pump losing prime if it sits for a long period of time. My car sits for up to 3 months without running during the winter. Anyone done this mod and had problems losing prime?

Yes I have done the mod and haven’t had a issue with loosing prime

I don't see how you can lose prime unless your oil pump leaks out the bottom. Gravity is going to keep the pump full. Unless you store your car upside down.

The only way the pump (or ANYTHING that pumps fluid from a lower level) can lose prime is when air can leak into the system.

That's true with oil pumps, well pumps, siphons, whatever.

Thanks guys I'm going to give it a shot.

Hey Earl?;

My front cover oil pump bores are not so hot. I PM'd you a couple of times a month or so ago. Do you still sell blueprinted front covers with you're modded oil pump?
