Early lock up with new solenoid

What would cause early lock up , 2nd gear ect.. with a new lock up solenoid. Obviously when the problem first arose , the solenoid was replaced with a new unit. The problem is still there. What else could cause this? Bad new solenoid?

Pull the electrical connector off the side of the trans and see if it still locks early. If not, then you have a short somewhere in the wiring. Could be internal to the trans or external. If it still locks early the shuttle valve in the pump that controls lockup could be stuck or the new solenoid is bad.

OK finally got to pull the plug. It runs fine with no early lock up. Solenoid must be bad.

No, it means you have a short in the wiring. Short could be internal to the trans or external.
