Dumb question but how do you know which side goes to the front??

Yes ic pipe goes on an angle(diagonal) and connects to your existing stock up-pipe in front of pulleys.

I installed using the pipes that I got with the intercooler but it is used and I'm wondering if the pipes came with the unit from Eastern. The pipe from the turbo to the IC has multiple couplings. 4 or 5 total I think, including the ends. Does that sound factory or is this home made?

sounds homemade
the up pipe would be two parts , the lower that they supplied and the upper that you had to reuse your existing stock i/c up pipe

Definitely homemade...mine is 2 solid pipes

Ok, that's what I figured. I guess I'll run it for now. It fits/works and you really don't see it much.

2 solid pipes, their should be only 4 couplings total from turbo to up-pipe... 5 if you count the tb.
