Eaton Posi Install In Georgia

I have an 87 Limited with an open differential. Bought an Eaton posi, shim kit, and Lakewood diff fluid with posi additive. I also bought axle bearings and seals just in case. I was quoted $410 to install just the posi here in Augusta GA. The guy said it would be an all day job, but did talk about setting the backlash so at least he seemed to know his stuff. Had a hard time finding anyone who would do it in this area and wanted to make sure this is a fair price before I look outside of Augusta. Mods, feel free to move this to the regional section but I felt the thread would get more looks here.

I live in Aiken, and I paid $150.00 for my gear install and setup.

The going rate around here is $2/250.00 from most quotes that I've gotten.

I personally think you're quote is a little on the high side. You shouldn't have to pay more than $250/300.00.That would be a fair price for everything you want done.

Heck, I'd drive to Aiken for that price! The quote I got was from a shop in Martinez. At that price, I'd get Moser axles put in too since the c-clips have to be removed anyway.

I have a friend that lives in Martinez. I get out that way every now and then. It's only 40 min. from Aiken.
