I have found a backhoe that I'm interested in.
It's on Craigslist. I send an email and get a response. [Smells like a rat to me..]
$4850.00 for a 1999 Case hoe, cab, f/e loader, new tires, etc, 2300hrs, yadda yadda.
Guy says it's in Seattle, and he'll pay the frt to Atl..[MUST be at least $3K!]
I ask for a fone # and a serial #.. I get this email back.. Smell like a rat to you guys that frequent Ebag, craigslist??
I don't know about the "explanation" he gives for Ebag involvement.. Do they do such w/o the product being listed, [or even at all], etc???

ready for Afghanistan (I hope for the last time). I do a special
training program each day and I am not allowed to get out of the unit
or make calls whenever I want. The shipping will take 3 to 5 days
depending on your location and it’s not a problem because I have

long as I'm dealing with eBay and they can ship the backhoe anywhere
in the US. I listed the backhoe in several states because it increases
my chances to get it sold much faster. I want to mention that the
backhoe was inspected by eBay and fulfils the standards from all the
50 states so it wouldn't be a problem for you to register it in your
state. You will receive the backhoe along with all the documents
including title, bill of sale, 2 set of keys, full service records and
more. Because it is a large transaction, we will complete the deal
only using an authorized third part like eBay because I already
prearranged the whole process with them, using their escrow Safe Pay
Program for products not listed on their website. The backhoe is
located at their warehouse in WA (ready for delivery). I asked them to
allow viewers to go there and inspect the backhoe but their reply was:
"We are not a showroom!" In this case, I will offer a 5-day period to
inspect the backhoe from the moment you receive it, before I'll have
your money. I think this is more than fair for both of us.
The payment will be handled by eBay Escrow, and you will benefit of 5
days inspection time period (test drive) and the option to accept or

I actually ran across a snowmobile this winter on Craigslist (I live in WI) that was at a too good to be true price. I inquired just for the Hell of it. Got an email back stating that the sled was in Florida!! and that all the shipping costs were pre-paid, eBay inspected (WTF?) and that I need to wire transfer the money to an eBay associate in Georgia, and once the sled arrived at my house i had 5 days to inspect it and accept it's condition. If i wasn't satisfied I could call the shipping company & they would haul it back to the seller for free.HAHAHA!! right.

Daytona Beach, FL.... the snowmobile capitol of the world!! What a fukcing loser. If you're gonna try to scam someone with a snowmobile, at least say it's located in a state known for snowmobiling.


Same raft of $hit as what this loser is trying to pull with you.

If you want to have some fun with this prick, go to porn sites & use his email address to sign up for info,products,etc.. He'll be getting so much spam in a few short days he won't be able to delete it fast enough.:biggrin:

There was a similar Bobcat scam here a few months ago. I knew it was too good to be true and when I asked where the machine was so I could see it and pay cash I got a simpler version of the same excuses you got.

I got the same story the other day (like I knew I would) when I found a 97 Turbo Supra on CL for $4900..... yea, rite! That ebay shipping story is all over the place on all kinds of items... definitely a scam..

email I got was a BIG red flag. My neighbor is not a "net guy", and had made the initial ad "discovery". I explained to him how the scams work. He wanted me to go for a serial #, to see if the deal was "real". The reply I posted here, really tells the story.
I wonder how many folks have sent him the $4850??

I guess, regardless of what one is looking for, snowmobiles, Bobcats, etc, there's a scammer out there, that has exactly what you want!

How did you get that IP? It may in fact be a google ip you are looking at. Report this to google. They can trace it down and take care of the account.

I have bought & sold many things thanks to both sites. You just have to cover your own A$$ and be smart. Not as much on eBay, but for damn sure on CL.

In fact, if it wasn't for eBay I most likely wouldn't have my GN. I needed to sell my previous car (an '82 Cutlass) to afford the GN.

I had it for sale on Craigslist,Racingjunk,Kijiji,etc. basicly all the free ad sites, with ZERO luck. A few nibblers, but nobody serious.
Well, I finally bit the bullet & paid for an eBay listing. A man from the Bristol TN area called me one night, said he has been watching my car on eBay and wants to buy it. Within a week he had his Cutlass & I had my GN.:biggrin:

That's more than likely an ip owned by google. They have the logs from the connection to their server for sending the emails via gmail.
