Anyone know how far up or where there are factory splice points near the ecm plugs?
I dont have the manual handy to give the splice numbers but I think theres ground and power ones wrapped up near the ecm?
I dont believe its an ecm pin issue but in the harness.
TIA. :)

Wasn't a splice problem at all.

Connector C437 which mostly has the ALDL wiring stuff also has the wire from the ECM/IGN fuse going through it.

It also powers the MAF, ESC, and CCI module as well as the ECM IGN terminal after that connector junction via splice S457.

I Bypassed the C437 connector cavity F. since I didn't have the proper pins sockets and removal tool, and solder spliced the two cut wires together at the connector. Pink/Blk striped wires and a fatter gauge down to a skinnier gauge, 1.0 to .5 in metric wiring 16 gauge to 20 gauge wiring.

No stalling and drop out and so far so good on the first test drive and of course doing the wiggling the wiring test before putting it all back together, it stalled easily without the splice repair.

A place to look if your ECM seems to have intermittant problem with stalling or flashing SES lamp and then catching itself and running okay again.

Good find there salvagev6, thanks for sharing with us, this is what puts the buick comunnity above the rest that we all help each other out and share good info. It definately is worth while to get the factory wiring books, I remember being shocked at how much info was in there when I got mine way back when.

The connector in question is just behind the glove box door you can't miss it.

Unhook the glove box door catch dump your powerlogger accessory connector, and GEN II onto the floor and it's right there.

15 cavities in two rows.

It's covered in a greenish gray foam sticky covering for some bizarre reason.

It looked factory original and okay with no signs of water damage or obvious corrosion, but I didn't get the pin and socket out for closer examination.

Here is some further info. for Connector C437 which is rather important to be funtioning properly.
