I want a 86/87 ecm.... I have everything for the conversion: ls1 maf sensor, maf translator, and turbo tweak chip with the correct programming......nothin is on the car yet as I have just lifted the body off of the chassi today so I can send in the chassi for powder coating :) anyways........I see that they have a new ECM for sale at Gbodys....should I buy it there and should I get the cal pack with it?

Sorry for all the post guys....I'm new to the GN and have money to spend on it and plan on keeping it for a very long time......just want to do it right the first time

Check the for sale section and I'd bet you'll find one with calpac in it. We also have a parts wanted section you can post in.;)

The chip is the op system and the calpac is what makes it work in the proper parameters.;)

So would I need it( cal pack )? I do have an unopened chip from turbo tweak setup for the 86/87 ecm, or is it just a separate part?

There are 2 chips inside the puter. 1 is the op system and the other is the calpac. You can take the calpac out of your HA puter and use that when you put the later puter and chip in.;)

Ok I hear ya :) mine should be fine to re use ;) gets pricy buying everything brand new lol I should at least try for some used good condition stuff :)

i paid $35 for my ecm at a local junkyard... they are really common, since they used them in every 3.8 powered fwd GM car in 86 and 87... mine was from an 86 Olds..
