What is the mod? Can it be done without sending it in? Are the parts to do it readily available? I'm wanting to have mine done but if it is simply replacing a transistor or two and the parts are available then I'd like to do it myself and save some time and money. I've done plenty of component level repair so I think I can do it if told how.

I beleieve it's a matter of replacing the inj. driver chip (unsoldering and then soldering) with a peak and hold type chip vs. the saturation driver.

I believe the correct drivers are out of production and the remaining inventory was bought up by those that offer this service quite some time ago.

Bob Bailey and Red Armstrong are two that still offer this service. Bob is a member of this board.
