Ecm ???

Hey b4black if you see this maybe you could help me out. Is there anything I can do with my ecm for the 301T as far as an up grade? I don't think they have chips in 81. I'm pretty sure that came in 82. Is there someone that could modify it for more aggressive performance? I'm not sure of what's out there these days in terms of this kind of upgrade so any suggestions......

The '81 ECM is just like the '82+ ECM. Both use PROM chips. The problem is that nobody has decoded the carb's CCC language, like has been done with EFI. Nobody makes new chips for carb cars that are any good.



But you really don't need them IMO. You would want to change timing and fuel mixture. The timing can be altered with ignition boxes like MSD's BTM and Crane's TRC. The carb secondaries aren't under ECM control, so WOT mixture is tunable.
