Hey folks,

I just thinking about removing my EGR stuff from my engine. Which would also mean, i would probably grind out the EGR hump in my intake and weld an angle in place to divert the air. I have also read that removing the EGR system will make the car run rich perhaps? Well i have an extender chip/trans +, if i turn off the EGR function, will that solve any issues with not having an EGR system?

Thanks for your time!

The stock chip (and maybe aftermarket for all I know) calls for more timing when the EGR is activated to make up for the dilution of the intake charge. This can cause part throttle detonation sometimes if the EGR is not functional. I would think by disabling it on the chip, the timing would already be pulled back but I don't know for sure.
