Going in for surgery for on Tuesday to remove scar tissue and shave the bone down. Basically a bad case of tennis elbow. Anybody ever have this type of surgery?

my wife has had this surgery about 7 years ago. the result were far from expected. she still has a lot of pain & problems. but on another note a friend of ours was a success story.

I decided to work on the car last night to replace VC gaskets and clean up a few things. I had to quit early to give the elbow a break and this morning I couldn't even hold the pot of coffee:redface:

Sorry to hear. Mine is just starting to bother me. I hope not to have it done. Good luck.

I am ivery nterested in following this thread. I developed Tendonitis (tennis elbow) in the right elbow around a year ago. Tried to let it heal naturally, eventually received cortisone injections... in both elbows as the left elbow flaired up also. I was bowling in December and felt it "rip" again. I am going through a fairly involved physical therapy process now. I also have tendonitis of the left rotator cuff as well! I'm apparently trying to collect all the "itis's"
Before I go the surgery route, I would look into this new treatment, called PRP, which looks to show some progress as an alternative to surgery. My orthopedic doc has a doc buddy who uses this technique; the the practice I go to is looking to acquire the same technology in the near future to offer this process. Below is a link:

I would evaluate everything out there before surgery...

Good Luck!

I have done the cortisone route 3 time and only seem to help for about 3-4 months. The therapy I did not help. I have never had a problem with weakness just pain.

be careful going under the knife

as one doc told me is once you do it you can't undo it. i know it can be a pain as i had back surgery recently. i have to go under the knife again and i waited over 19 yrs to have surgery because i wanted to wait for technology to get better. well doesn't seem like my wait was worth it as i didn't heal like i should have. guess they are right when they say a 20 yr old body heals faster then a 40 yr old body. As for those cortozone shots they are only a temp fix suppose to only help for a few months if that. sucks when they don't work at all or you are suppose to be asleep when they do the injection and wind up waking up in the middle of the procedure. i've been there talk about not a good feeling.

Well I made it through. Removed alot of scar tissue and it turns out the bone had worn through the tendon about 25%. Shaved the bone down and reattached tendon.

Good luck with your recovery...I just had my R knee worked on last friday..Bad meniscus tear and arthritic scale removed, we can heal in unity.
I will say...Damn it's rough to get old and i don't like it:mad:
