Hey guys, Im wanting to install an electric fan on my 85 regal, and was wondering what is the best way to do this. I have a fan already off of a 99 trans am. I have seen 86/87 ECMs that have electric fan adaptions, but I was thinking of ordering the be cool adjustable regulator kit What do you guys think. Thanks

85 t type silver, cold air induction, 2.5 DP 3inch single shot exhaust,

the easy/cheap way:

get a good relay, wire the low speed to come on triggered by ignition (just dont leave your ignition on for a long period of time.. but you shouldnt be doing that anyway!)

wire the high speed onto a switch in the car, OR, just make it run on high speed all the time.

the way i like to do it is to install an 87 ecm and let it control the fan.

yeah, if you have an 87 ecm put a pin in the connector (instructions on gnttype.org i think)

and you can make it switch the fan on and off

Thanks

Thanks everyone, I really enjoy working on my car, and love to have help from guys like you. I think that I am going to go with a be cool system that has an adjustable thermostat, Im making the bracket for the fan shortley and making room for an intercooler

Electric fan

I put the 1987 ECU in my 1984 and let it control the electric fan. If you are thinking of putting an intercooler on your 1985 check out the group purchase on the Spearco kit for $850, offer good to Dec 30th
