electrical/dash problem...please help!

My dash is acting up! My dad attempted to install my gauges into my car for me. He ran the wire directly to the fuse box for the electric gauges, and then when I turned the headlights on, the radio did not dim and the digital dash went entirely dark. I replaced the dimmer switch and nothing changed. I unplugged the gauges from the fuse box and it still happens. What is going on and how do I fix it?!?!?!

Check the following fuses.

Tail lamps fuse. INST LPS. fuse. GAGES fuse.

Most likely the gages fuse, I hope.....
