I have the electronic touch heater/ac system and I can't get it to stop blowing hot air. No matter what button I press it blows hot air. My a/c probably needs to be charged, but it should still shut off when I press the off button. Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks!

You heater valve is probally stuck, bypass the heater and see what happens. Or unless one of your vacume line came off.

Can you tell me how to do this.

I don't know ANYTHING about heaters, especially these electronic things.

Thanks again!

Can anyone tell exactly how I can do this! I don't even know where/how to start!

Are there any diagrams out there of the heater system.

At the rear of the motor there are 2 rubber hoses that run from the metal piping alongside your turbo heat shield below the turbo.

These hoses run to the rear and into the heater core. On one of the hoses there will be a metal heater valve with a vac line attached to it. This adjusts how hot your air will be.

Mine was rusted and seized up. The vac line was cracked and worn also.

Replace the heater valve and freshen up the vac line and you should be good.

GM part # 25523118
Dont worry its cheap.

It's possible you have 2 things to be addressed. 1)If the fan is blowing all the time, period, the main power transistor on the control board probably went. The board is located under the hood next to the blower fan near the firewall. An NTE 30 PNP transistor from your local electronic parts outlet (except radio shack) should cure this. 2) A/C needs freon or heater valve stuck open ? Ask me how I know............

I wonder if this is more problem, my blower motor is stuck on, even with vehicle off.

I have the Electronic Climate Control as well and when the LED starts flashing the function remains wherever it was - if it was set to 18, then I get AC no matter what - if set to 28 I get heat no matter what. Sometimes when I turn the car off and then back on it resets so the LED becomes solid and I can change the temp again. I need a new temperature Door Actuator Motor, and have for decades. The part is discontinued (I have the Delco part number somewhere) and I just live with it. More than likely there are plastic gears inside which have stripped.
