Empty gas tank weight.

Quick question, what does the gas tank in our cars weigh when it's empty? I was considering a fuel cell in my attempt to get the car as light as I can and wanted to get an idea how much weight I could shed from the car.

I don't know the exact amount, but it is pretty darn light. I would guess 10 - 15 pounds. It has been awhile since I changed the fuel pump.

I was thinking about 15 or 20 myslef, havent changed a fuel pump in like 4 years.

I'd guess about 20 to 30 lbs. I just replced fuel pump and it was easy enough for me to handle tank my self.

jsut took mine off and it was not empty but very close it is vary light I'd say like 20 lbs
