I polished mine myself. And I'm still suffering from PTSD. Furthermore, the upkeep is brutal.
I wouldn't say smarter....maybe just a little more experienced. This engine does not exist any longer in that current configuration. It was torn down and is going into my new Pro Touring car. I was stripped down and the block painted a different color and the header and turbo direction was changed. I also flipped the intercooler upside down so the intercooler pipes come around the radiator now and not from underneath. The turbo inlet is just a 90 elbow that goes up against the bottom side of the hood. I added air inlet vents to the top of the hood bubble and welded in a trough kinda like a cowl induction piece and when the hood is closed, it is sealed off. Totally different then any other Buick set up that I have seen.
