can anyone tell me if 307 engines came in 1987 buick. first time Buick owner!
i purchased it for $500 and it has white smoke coming out of the tail pipe!

it is possible for you to have a 307 in an 87 buick. the 8th digit in your vin should be a Y. and that covers cast iron and stainless steel exhaust manifolds. dave

Yes- i had one- its a 307 olds motor.

If you are thinking about swapping in a Turbo V6, you must change the wire harness. The V8 uses 12v as a reference voltage while the turbo V6 uses 5v.
