engine noise

I just converted my 84 GN to a 87 drive train. and there seems to be a chartering noise from the top end. sounds like the lifters are not getting oil or there not filling up. I don't know much about the engine is this sound common? oil presure is good.

Is the new motor a stocker? Got a stethascope?

it is stock as far as i know there is a cam upgrade. I used a long screw driver to listen to it. no adjustment for lifters. any ideas?
