A friend and I decided to make some transmission fixtures for an engine stand. We made a couple for ourselves and had enough material to do a few more. Basically you bolt this fixture to your transmission, and then put it in your engine stand to work on your transmission. I prefer this over a benchmount fixture, because you can move it where needed or out of the way.
Talk about solid, this thing is made of 1/2 inch thick carbon steel and heavy duty hardware. The main hoop was not welded, or heated with a torch and bent into shape. I ordered the steel from my supplier already sheared like that. In the pics you can see me standing on top of a fully assembled 200-4R and I weigh 180 libs. It will fit the 2004-R, 200, 350, 400 transmission. I think it will fit a 4L60E and 4L80E as well, but cant confirm that, as I dont have one here to be 100% sure.
Looking for $110 plus shipping each. Fixture only, not the stand. It will fit a standard engine stand with a 2.25 inside diameter on the stand.
