engine ticking

After i installed new valve springs, engine is now got what sounds like a lifter ticking ; has anyone else had this happen or am i just hearing something that should be there.

I had the same problem last year. After checking all the usual, I found several wiped lobes on the camshaft. If you got 160,XXX on the stock block and you just install new springs and then the ticking started.. that could be one answer out of several. Check your rocker arms,pushrods,etc. I went through several different length pushrods before i found my problem.

my engine has always had a slight ticking to it since the day i bought it...50k miles later it does the same thing but still runs like a champ...i get people all the time asking me if i have a cam in my car too.....i say nope it's stock which it is...i wonder why our cars sound like they do???
