Hey fellow GN owners. I am replacing the factory motor mounts. Any suggestions for what mount and their quality or is a GM factory mount OK? I am thinking of putting in an engine tie down. Would this help my mounts as well as my driver's side header which has already been welded? Cheers!

I have a tie down and haven't had a single problem or broken motor mount. Some people say that you will crack your A pillars with a tie down. I don't see how that would happen, but my A pillar was already cracked so, I can't dispute it.

HRPartsandstuff makes a monster of a motor mount. From what everybody says, it does not require a tie down strap to keep from breaking.

I would HIGHLY recommend the HRpartnstuff mount. I have both driver and passenger side mounts on my car, and they are awesome. Some people complained they could feel more engine vibration in the car, but I can't AT ALL. And the motor barely rocks when it is revved. For the money, I don't think you could beat them, and you don't have the strap added to your engine compartment with them. :)

Thanks Derrick. How much more is the HRpartnstuff mount (part number ?) than the factory mount? I will do a search to find the best tiedown strap.

BLACK6PACK, I guess the frame braces and X brace behind the seat (which I have) also compliment the tie down strap.

Thanks for the tips:) Cheers!

Hey there fellow Canuck. Leave the moving straps in the moving van, and buy the HRPartsNstuff mounts. Yup, they cost alot more than the 'Made in India' units avail from Lordco, but they're good to 1000hp and are second to nothing.
Just my humble opinion.

I just pulled the strap off my car and replaced with a driverside HR poly mount. The stainless steel eyelet I used was bent about 1/2" from it original orientation. They are good for what they are, but the poly mount is a better solution. It eliminates one more non-stock looking thing from my engine compartment, too.

Hey guys. I ended up putting on the stock motor mounts. The reason. It was the quickest solution and the HRPartsNstuff, which I agree would be the best mounts for the car, would.......actually I have no reason. I just cheaped out. Any way, the car is completely diferent and an annoying rattle I had is now gone. Best fix I have ever done.:) The next step is the body mounts. I will definately use the poly units for this fix (Even though I have enough pucks in in my Hockey bag) eh;) What is up with HRPartsNstuff's website:confused: I couldn't get on it. Cheers!
