I know this subject has been discussed many times but really. Its hard to get a good answer. My tranny shifts at whatever rpm it chooses at full throttle. I dont think its ever hit 5000 rpm. First to second its lucky to hit 4500 rpm second 4000. And I also have that delay before it shifts. I should be in the high 12s but cant break out of the low 13s trap speed is 106-108. ANY ADVICE.

More detailed information is needed.

Is that the original transmission? How many miles are on it? Has it been rebuilt? If so, what valve body kit was used? Are you looking at a real tach or the garbage factory tach?

As for your ETs, what are your 60' times and what tires are you using? Looks like a traction problem.

Hi the trans is the original trans 46k on it it shifts well, now with the trans selector in 4od it will just make 4850-4900 in 1-2 shift the same for the 2-3 shift. If I put the selector in 3rd gear the trans will shift at 4000 1-2 the same for 2-3. I know theres a traction problem. I am running 235-15 drag radials goodrich. Also getting my info rpm from scanmaster.

The Scanmaster is probably not the best way to get your rpm information. The data only updates every 1.5 seconds so you may be missing your actual peak rpm.

Have you checked your TV cable adjustment?

Yes, tv cable seems ok shift points seem ok, You make sense on the tack situation. I think I,ll take it out again an see what happens. The laying down before the shift to 2 was my biggest concern. Also wondering what the best all around method for shifting these cars. Leave it in drive and let the trany shift. Or manual shifts. Thanks
