After having my DS header welded in the usual spot, it still leaked after I put it on. I noticed that I could see daylight between the tube and the flange on the #5 cylinder. Ever happen to anybody else? Should I get it welded or find another header?

TIA

this is just me...but i wouldn't fool around with getting it welded again...my header cracked BAD and there was really no point in welding it again...so i just dug deep in my pocket and paid the 260 bucks for a brand new ceramic coated ds header from postons...fits like a glove and no leaks...i even noticed a increase in throttle response and turbo spool...it is even more madrel bent and smoother than the stock header...plus it looks good

header crack

when you had your crack welded, did you use a jig so it didn't warp?

I have a crack in the same place. Took along time and acouple of gaskets to find it. Didn't try welding it up yet though.

It is not really a crack, on the inside of the flange some of the metal flaked off. So you can see through where the tube and flange meet. It is very small. The only way you can see it is if you hold it up to a light. I am going to have a bead of weld put around that flange to see if that will fix it. Otherwise I will find another header.
