Exchuase housing to be cut off

This is what happens when you have to change exchuase housing and it won't come off with heating it up.And bi cutting it off with a cut off wheel i didnt touch the exchause wheel.

Dan sorry to see you had to put so much work into getting the exhaust housing off, sometimes they almost seem to be welded on. Good job not touching the exhaust wheel or you would have been into a rebuild.
 
Holy smokes! That is some precision surgery right there, not hitting the wheel. That is a good piece of wall art now. ;)
 
press them off

20 ton press makes short work of that job--yes I've done more than 1.

Hey thanks guys took me about 2 hours to cut it off. If i had 20 ton press that would have been grate but i had to work with what i had, this is the frist time i had to do this.
 
I had that happen to me a few times.

The first it happened to me, I had a 76 turbo. While trying to get the exhaust housing off, the turbo fell of the bench, hits the floor, the housing popped at the same time chipping a few fins off the exhaust wheel.

The second time, I just sent the turbo back to Precision. No grief or wasted effort.

You have a lot of patience to do that.

Hey Billy T thats what this turbo is T 76 P Trim, I had to heated this up for two hours the frist time because i was going to change the houseing has you can see it was coming apart thats why you see the brazing around the v-band part,it rolled around and it burnt me real good on the fore arm that why this time i cut it off. Big thanks to Mike Rickets dad who had one to replace it .
