Im pulling my drivers side header off my car and was wondering if I need to do anything special to seal the header back to the crossover pipe. Do I just bolt it back together and expect it to seal? Is their some kind of a gasket in there that I need?

Thanks,

I pretty sure you can just put it back together with nothing to help seal it. I believe those are meant to seal pretty well they way they are.

Maybe someone else can make for absolute certain that thats the case.

I just pulled my crossover off to re-do the rear main seal on my 84. I just slapped it back together and all is well..

The only issue I have seen if when you install a std Felpro exhaust gasket. Than (it seems) as if the x-over is too short.
Otherwise, center it, pull it away from the PS lower A-Arm, tighten evenly and is "should" seal.

I think this might be a good question, but IF there was exhaust leaking out of one of those connections on the end of the crossover, would you be able to feel the exhaust leak coming out while it is idling?

Technically, yes, but, I guess it depends how big the leak is and which side it is at.

Edit:
Getting your hands close enough to any hot exhaust pipe to "feel a small leak" may be trickier than it seems.
