I am putting my Bison rebuilt TE44 back on finally and was wondering what to use on the elbow to seal to the turbo.
I purchased some more hi temp copper permetex but it's only rated for 700 degrees. I was wonder what others use if anything. I've not noticed any issues but the stuff is pretty much power on the old turbo after very little run time so I doubt it really does much good.

You can use some red RTV if you like but truth be told if both surfaces are flat you don't really need anything.

You're fine with any color of RTV jizz. Put a smear coat on both parts, let them skin over and tighten them together. don't use some much it blobs out and could hit a W/B sensor if you have one.

Don't forget to coat the bolts with nickle based anti-seeze.

I've used Ultra Copper to assemble my previous and current turbo in the method eb describes above. Does the job.
