I have an ehaust leak coming from the passanger side of the car.I've replaced the header gaskets with copper one's so I don't think that's it.But anyway in second gear the car wants to bog and stumble then clears up if I feather the gas a little. Can the leak be causing this?

Thanks,

Jack

Plausible, but most likely, the "exhaust leak does not equal stumble at WOT".

At WOT, the ECM goes into open loop mode and no longer relies on the O2 sensor for feedback. An exhaust leak would therefore not affect fueling @WOT if you are able to get to the same boost level the chip is written for. So we need more info to help you.

1. Do you get KR and are you monitoring this?
2. What boost level does this occur?
3. What condition are the MAF, TPS, FPR, Fuel Pump, ignition system, plugs, wires, O2 sensor, air filter and alternator in?
4. What chip & injectors and do they match?

Your next best option is to post some numbers from a scantool to see what is going on.

If you still have the original ecm only Turbo Link or an OTC 4000 will work. If you have an 87 ecm don't waste your time with them and get a Power Logger or a used Direct Scan.

Thanks for the feed back guy's,I'm currantly looking for a scan tool.Went ahead and gave the car a tune up.New plugs,o2 sensor,gaskets,etc...The stumble is gone but I found the passanger side header to be cracked.I guess this is where it pays to have a father who can weld razor blades together(40 years as a aircraft welder for Delta)..

Thanks,

Now, THAT is cool! Not many people are that skilled.
Maybe he can weld a few things up for us.

Oh yeah, glad the car is running better.

Well if you live in the atlanta area he is retired and will do just about anything to stay busy.If not ship it to us.And yeah I'm glad it is running better, the friday night drags at AMS are coming up quick.
