I think I read some were for every 12 gallon mix, thats 9 gallons of 94, 3 gallon of exlene. add 2OZ of MMO. can some tell me if this is right.

Yes that's correct...The base formula is:

3 Gallons 93 Pump Gas
+ 1 Gallon Xylene
+ 1 Oz Marvel Mystery Oil
----------------------------------
4 Gallons 100 Octane Home Brewed Gas

You just need something for lubrication b/c the xylene doesn't have any in it unlike regular gasoline.

To be a bit more specific, here are the actual calculations for octane rating:

10% mix - 95.4 Octane
20% mix - 97.8 Octane
30% mix - 100.2 Octane

So, with 3 gals of 93 and 1 gal of Xylene you actually have a 25% mixture, or about 99 octane. To get a solid 100 octane, you would need 7 gals of 93 and 3 gals of Xylene. Or 3 1/2 to 1 1/2. Higher than 30% is not recommended.

Hmm, actually 30% is 2 gals of gas and 1 gal of xylene. So it would be 4 gals of gas, 2 gals of xylene or 6 gals of gas, 3 gals of xylene. That is to say, 30% means ONE THIRD of your total has to be xylene. 7 gals of gas and 3 gals of xylene isn't 30% either. What's 1/3 of 10? 3 1/3 or 3.3333333 whatever. So it would be 6 2/3 gals of gas and 3 1/3 gals of xylene.

Any problems using this with alcohol. The reason I ask is because 91 octane is the highest pump gas we can get here now. Also, does it have to be mixed before it is added to the tank?

You can add it directly to the tank if you want, but I've heard that it works better if you premix. One thing though, when adding directly to the tank is that you really don't know exactly how much gas you've got in the tank...
You can run alcohol with it, but remember, you've increased the octane. If you increase it again by running alcohol you can reach the point of diminishing returns... i.e., flood the engine. Octane is actually resistance to combustion--too much octane is bad. I've done this before. You may have to put in a smaller jet on your alcohol system.

I think I'll be doing this for awhile to save on O2 sensors at the Track!

Keith, You need to rethink your math. Where you've gone astray is your premise that 30% equals 1/3. It doesn't. 1/3 = 33 1/3%. Look at it a different way. If you have 10 gallons of gas, then each gallon is 10%. OK? So each gallon is another 10%. If you want xylene to equal 30%, then you have to have 3 gallons out of 10 be xylene. Hope this resolves the question.

Just be sure of what the 103 is made up of because you might be doubling up on the xylene.
