I swapped my extender chip back in yesterday to test some drivability issues Im having with the stock chip (injector constant changed for 50lb injectors) that I borrowed, and I programmed it, and today found my adjustments had vanished and it had gone back to the default parameters. I programmed it again, and every time I made a change, I would key off, turn it back on and check to see that it held the change, and it did. I go back out to the car after about 5 hours, and the adjustments are gone again. WHy would it keep them for a little while and then eventually lose them? The ECM power wire looks fine. The grey wire that gets added to bypass the calpack...which gets installed with the extender...I left that wire in, and hooked up the entire time I was driving with the stock chip. Could this have hurt anything? Battery voltage is fine...new battery, new starter..it has a new alternator too. Thats all working fine. I never really did know why my alternator fried along with my starter. All I know is the new stuff is working ok. Any ideas what would have caused that stuff to blow out, and why the extender isnt retaining memory?
