I am tunning stock engine car with a TA-60 runs 28psi
Current 11.80 @ 116.4

The boost creeps and only sees 28psi 50 feet before the traps. I want an external gate that will work flawlessly from 20psi on the street to 28psi at the track.

HKS, TIAL ???????????

Oh yeah who makes downpipes?

Thanks for the help.

We carry the turbonetics wastegate and a SS 3" pipe, bolts right up. Give me a call

you don't need an external gate to control your boost....there is something wrong with your wastegate/solenoid/wastegate hole

Here's the deal. We ported the wastegate hole out to 1 1/4 probably more. What is does for example is hit say 17-18psi pretty quick then rise with rpm till 22 by redline. This is with a stock adjustable acutator. Limit Eng told me that the hole was too big and my set up would work with their high boost actuator. So it get's here tomorrow, I'll give it a shot..............

Thanks.

may wanna try just looping the compressor & wastegate to eliminate the solenoid.....

you "may" not like the HD actuator....depending on the spring, minimum boost is usually around 18 lbs

I have blocked off the factory control. 18psi is fine I can run well over 20psi with 0 knock.

Just want to boost to be somewhat consistent thru the run

The HKS units are very good. Lots of VERY fast guys use the HKS units.

Here's the deal, high boost acutator from Limit did not cure the problem, I am being told that the wastgate hole is too big. It is just about as big as possible with the Terry Houston.

I am going put some weld around the hole to try and close up the diameter a little.

Ah yes... Boost creep. Let me guess, at low boost levels, let's say 20 PSI and lower, you're rock steady. higher boost levels you get creep? If so, sounds like my car. I HAD this problem but no more. You need a bigger hole. I had to go external to get mine rock steady. Everyone combo is different. Most that say the hole you have should be enough. I bet they have ported heads....... We don't.

Actually I am hearing that the hole to to big. At low boost is doesn't matter, it still creeps. It basically rises with RPM thru the gears. That is the trouble I hit high boost in second at redline, then it falls off and doesn't come back till I am redline in the traps.

Thanks............

I agree with Ed. I have a ported, polished, roller cam, engine and when it was in I had rock solid boost and fenominal spool. That engine had a roller lifter come apart so in went the bone stock one. I now experience slower spool and the exact same boost drop on shift, then creep back up by end of gear that you have explained.

All other pieces of the combo are the same in my case so it must be due to the ability of the engine to breath.
