Have an 87 T that Im trying to figure out the wastegate to. It has an ATR downpipe on it with a Turbonetics Delta Gate on it, and I was curious as how to adjust boost on it. Nick was sayin there is an adjustment nut on top, but Im unclear as to which way to go with it to turn the boost down. Anyone familiar with these goofy things? -Ben

the racegate and deltagate top portion (the natural aluminum top) are similar
loosen nut (counter clock wise) and turn shaft down (clockwise) for increase, up (counter clockwise) for decrease , tighten lock nut
the screw adjustment isnt anything major as far as boost adjustment , a couple pounds more than the spring (9psi spring was commonly installed)
in my experience the deltagates are terrible at boost control . besides the sticking issues the gate opening and valve lift are too small for the larger turbos we have today
the racegates on the other hand have a much larger gate port and work fine
if you find the gate wont go low enough youll need to change the spring (or as mentioned if its a deltagate it may be too small a gate to control the airflow of a large turbo)
if you need more boost than the spring you could change to a higher rated spring or tee in a bleeder to the lower gate hose
an adjustaboost manual valve (like a compressor valve) hooked up dual port (remove the vent fitting at top and install a hose barb fitting ) will allow boost just over double spring ,
better control would be with an active closed loop electronic boost controller ($$$)

Yeah I just need to adjust it down from 17psi to 15 and see if the knock Ive been getting goes away. I think I caught the gist of what you're saying, but I normally just use the stock wastegates so this whole eternal thing is wierd to me.... thanks though! :) -Ben
