Sometimes if you are careful, you can use a small screwdriver and or dental pics to remove the lodged cassette (done this a few times for customers) If you cant remove it by yourself, you can remove head unit and take it to a repair guy to remove for you.
Most of the time when cassettes start doing that, the mechanism inside needs to be repaired or cleaned/adjusted and it will cost you as much to fix it as it does to replace it.
