Factory Engine Paint

I know this is an odd question but, did these cars come with the engine blocks and head painted? Or did they just come in the regular cast iron with no paint?

I don't think I've seen any engine with any paint - usually grime...

Any thoughts?

My car still has black on the heads and block, not a very good job from the factory but it is there.

turbofish38 already answered this question saying it was painted black for warranty purposes so the owner wouldnt know if there was a oil leak unless it dripped on the ground.
