Hey guys im posting this same thing on a cuple differnt threds so i get a fast response, im converting my cluth fan to elct. fan and can anyone tell me if its just studs that go tho the water pump tho the pully and then on the fan because there is 4 - 1/2in nuts on the fan holding it to the pully, I need to know this becuase im giong out to by a 12" Hayden fan and this is my only car so i need to know if i need bolts or if i can just put the nuts back on the pully to hold that there? Please help me becuase im waiting on a response tell i leave thanks guys dont let me done now haha lol.

Mine had studs. You can go with the washers, maybe add a lock washer.
Should hold the pulley on.

If you have an 86/87 ECM you can have it turn on your fan like its supposed to. Instructions are over at gnttype.org in the original ECM conversion instructions by Dan Smith. Very simple, just need to know the wire to use at the ECM.

Thanks Guys the only other question i have is when i took the old fan off my 85 and put just the pully on with the nuts the pully wants to turn when i tighten it down anyone else have this problem? Any ideas on how to fix it? Also dose anyone know if like a Chrome aftermarket pully for a Chevy 350 would work? looking at one at Shucks. Thanks for all the help couldent have done all this with out you guys.

You may not be able to tighten the bolts/nuts until you put the belt back on for some tensions. It is kind of like trying to loosen lug nuts after you jack up the car. Put the belt on, then hold the pulley and belt together as tight as you can with one hand, tighten with the other. Maybe even use some loc-tite on the threads.

Alright i can try that i think i might of gotten it and i might be seeing things i took the lock washers off and it looked like it lined up better maybe i could put some washers on the back of the pully?
