fast update?

what happends when you get a fast update option in your chip? how many frames does it read, and what do you loose?

I just got a chip with fast update and I'm pretty sure it flashes #s twice as fast, which is way better than my old chip. You also get a couple of other features that show spark and injector readings. The bad thing is that you lose malfunction codes.
