I was recently told that running leaded race gas in my car would kill the fasts 02 sensor. Any truth to this? I'm thinking no - but thought I'd double check.

My understanding:

In theory, the chemistry between the lead and the sensor element is somewhat incompatible. However real-world experience seems to indicate that even with leaded race fuel, these sensors last quite a while (several years).

yup, I agree with Bob, plus i might add that I take an extra precaution on my racecar in that i turn the power on for a good 20-30 secs to warmup the heater element, before starting her up ... not sure how practical this may be on the street cars though ...
