Just trying to figure out if I have a record or something. Has anyone with a hydralic roller in a 109 gone faster than 9.40 and 146 mph?

Jason,

The only person I can think of that ran quicker/faster than you with a Hydraulic cam was Louie Lopez (pretty sure he ran 9.20's with a 224/224) but that was a Stage2 motor so yeah I'd say you're the fastest 109 with a Hydraulic cam.

Racer, what hydraulic roller do u have? Readily available or custom?

Actually, it was off the shelf. It was just a cam to get me by and ended up working really well.

just 6.04 in the 1/8.. just wish i had ran it at a 1/4 track, that would have been a 9.43 run... i was running a 220/220 if i remember correctly..

I have yet to go into the 5's in the 1/8th. Many 6.02-6.04..

everything went right on that run but i did shift early on the 1-2 by 500rpm.. the car pulled a low 1.3* 60ft and it scared the shi* out of me :). i think it could have pulled a 5.99...

Whats the fastest anyone has gone with a 231-235ci? 3.4 stroke and hydraulic cam? Ill be running a small hydraulic in my S2 this year. 276 ci. Hope to go 9.4's on drag radials. 3550-3600 lbs

As Bob Frey always says "That is why they run the race".

Jason,
I think you got this one if you say the car must weight at least 3550.

How about at a real 20/21 psi of boost on a foot brake in an ac car.

Well, AC doesn't matter much when your car is about the same weight. I can tell you my car will run 10.0 - 10.teens on foot brake and low boost.. It wouldn't be much to drop my setup into a car with A/C and drive down the road and run low 10s.

i was running 10 flat with A/C and heat at around 27psi.. this was all in the heat of the day temp 90* and hotter..

At a track rental (MIR raceway 11/06) I ran 10.15 @ 131 on a 4 psi foot brake launch, MT 275/60's drag radials (1.46 60 ft.) running 20/21 psi boost going down the track. The best or worst part is that my 2004R trans was slipping on the 2/3 shift big time; also OEM computer with a street TT chip, unleaded & dual alky.

A week or two later the trans was fixed and at the same boost at a Capital rental the car went 134 mph; no better et thou due to bad track prep. I was getting 2.0/2.1 short times that day on "Slicks".

PS: burnout pic from MIR below!!!!

Well, you may have that on lock! I plan on turning the boost up way higher than 21.

I'm shooting for the fastest car with foot brake, working a/c and working power antenna.

I am the FASTEST 109 with hydrualic Roller. Last night I ran 9.28@148mph in my sleep. Kicked the wife a couple times during that pass and woke up with water in my face:redface: The best thing about my pass is the car didn't even feel a thing.

sorry for the off topic . but what rpm are you guys shifting those big roller cams at ? :) reason I'm asking I'm going out to track for the first time with my new stroker and DLS 218/218 roller . I figure 5700 rpm on stock race ported heads and beehive springs . Thanks .

Tim you need to shift your car no less then 6100 to 6300rpm. That is the benifit of using a hyd roller over flat tappet. I am pretty sure that if you run a 28" tire and shift each gear at 5700rpm then your gonna run out of gear before the end of the 1/4 with your TH400. Probably would go through the traps at over 6600rpm in valve float territory.
