6gun,thanks for the info:smile: nice passes on the 49!could you post the 330?timing and boost throughout the run?the rumor is you in the 30psi range:eek:

Turn off the alky gentlemen and then you can truely say you're running street trim.
It's pretty well known fact that you can run alky push the motor as hard as running 112 or better race gas. Not a fair comparison to what I consider to be true street trim. Not at all.

Wanne compare #'s. Make your runs on straight 93 octane, no additives.
And while you're at it pull the sticky tires off, then let's compare #'s.

Dave.... you just need to join the alky crowd.... I've heard you comment you "might"

IMHO.... race gas.... is definately not "street" trim..... but alky definately can be.

I say this because I used to daily drive my GN.... 85 miles every day.... running my car set on kill... 23 psi boost with pump gas and alky....I was comsuming about 1 gal of alky per week.....on average....I might top my tank off twice... but it would only be half empty. I wouldn't think twice about jumping into my car and driving 1000 mile round trip on that tune.... to me.... that "is" street trim.

Join us Dave..... us Alkycontrol (I'm wearing my Alkycontrol shirt this morning as a matter of fact) guys could use another techinical minded turbo Buick diehard.....

I know, I know. But that's another $500 smakers the budget just can't handle at the time.
I'm able to run an easy 20# (actually 21.5 in 1st and 2nd, and 19 in 3rd and 4th) of boost on straight 93 now, and that seems to be enough power to kill almost anything around here. And since I'm not a street racer so-to-speak, and have retired from track racing, Alky just isn't a high priority.

I'm too busy having so much fun running my new Translator Pro speed density and WB setup, and finding new ways to control different things with it. I now have closed loop boost control (two levels)(on stock solenoids), staged double pumper control (without a hobbs switch), plus all the stuff it does right outa the box.

This was at 29psi from what I remember.
I`m sure Al will be back to clear this up.;)

10 sec TA-49-Factory Longblock

Thanks,everyone.

And Brian was correct. Those runs were at 29#-29.5# max boost.
Was using a "Red's 107 chip (I believe 24deg. timing in 1st & 2nd and 22deg. in 3rd) .
330 ft #'s were....run# 1)4.49,...#2)4.45,...#3)4.46(10.93 run).

As mentioned earlier, making a 10 Sec run with the factory longblock set up IS do-able( tho not an easy task) Every area has to be tuned to the max and working together.

Al,
"TinMan" Performance Products:cool:

Brian, you can do it. Just put the cutout i gave you on and the o2s will drop, and throw those boat anchor wheels in the river where they belong. The aluminum bumper supports will also greatly help, your talking 200lbs (well 212 if you start some aerobics) worth of dead weight total. Don't u lose 1 tenth per 100lbs?
