Taking a poll:

Boy I hate the Thick syle mattress type pizza's
Where have all the NY Italian style thin crust flat style pizza gone too?

Up here in NH it is mostly CRAP Greek style thick rugs or food chains selling doggy pies.

Mazzios thin crust pepperoni and itailian sausage. Gotta have the slightly burned pepperoni. :D

I do like Pizza Hut stuffed crust too, but not as good as Mazzios in general. I'd love to try some of that New York/Chicago pizzeria kind if I ever go up that way.

I remember the days of going to Boston's Italian North end
to buy my illegal fireworks or go shopping for HO scale trains
as a kid.
We would always stop at HAYMARKET SQ & get the Best NY Italian flat style large cuts of pizza where the cheese would stretch like an elastic band & it was dripping with tomato sauce.

That's what I'm talking about, I'd love to try some of that. Something not "franchised" for a change. We still make that Chef Boyardee (sp?) homemade kind every now and then. Great crust on that and you can do it up however you like.

I miss the good old pizza I got in the midwest. Down here its all chicago or NY style pizza. Any time I go back to indiana I get me a nice big Pizza King pizza that is cut into squares!!! mmmmmm

I've lived in Chicago and New York and I don't think either city's pizza is all it's hyped up to be....you gotta find those hole-in-the-wall places in unexpected areas. For example, littlesixsteve- you're in Nashua, right? Next time you're around that way, try Snappy's in Rockland (ME), I love that pool of orangey grease!!

I definitely prefer a nice and thick crust, and I also do agree that you have to really look for the good pizza that the city is famous for. When I went to NYC, I was expecting this amazing pizza wherever I went to, but it's nothing you couldn't find in a DiGiorno's box and make it yourself at home. However, when we went walking through Little Italy, oh man, the pizza served at these little family-owned places was just unbelievable, and actually a good bit cheaper than the big chain places. Same thing applies around here for the legendary Chicago deep dish, you've gotta go into the city and find certain places, though if you want a chain place that has better-than-average pizza, Giordano's or Sbarro is really good. In fact, I think I know what I'm doing for lunch. mmm.

We have a place in old town Folsom here called Chicago Firehouse Pizza. They have a thin crust pizza that has totaly changed my taste in pizza. You have all the flavor and none of the brick in your stomach when done. Easily the best I have ever had. They bake it on brick with a wood fire. GOOD STUFF.

anybody try the cheesesteak pizza from dominos, i know dominos is no were near the best pizza but it is pretty bad ass.:D

Have you tried Sal's? There's one in Merrimack across from the PO. They have the nice big blister bubbles on the edge. At the one in Hudson you can buy it uncooked and take it home to heat up later.

THE *BEST* thin crust in the world is at Delorenzos tomato pies on Trenton NJ. No steaks, no fries NOTHING but pizza made by the same family for 50 years.. Line waiting out the door every Sunday before open. Its UNBELIEVABLE..

favorite pizza

My favorite pizza has got to be Little Vincents in Ronkonkoma, NY -- Galoush took me there and I make him take me back there everytime I am visiting him... It's soooo good ...

I happen to be in Illinois right now visiting for Thanksgiving. I took a ride to Ted's Harley-Davidson in Alton because they had a V-Rod in the showroom that is exactly what I want: black VRSCB.

Afterwards, I stopped in Bethalto at an Imo's Pizza and got a 16" Deluxe. That was the best pizza I've had in years!

That there Yankee Pizza is the best! They can't cook barbeque but they make a mean pizza!!! :D ;)

Damn Dave, I was in that neck of the woods all week. Passed right through there on my way back from Peoria today :-) Was born in Alton. We could have had an Imo's and a beer :-)

Imos' is the bomb! Love that thin crust pizza w/ the provolone (sp?) chease! I am going back home to Granite City, IL this X-Mas and of course I will be getting a 16" deluxe to myself! And some G's Grill (Kurts's or Lisa'a Diner whatever you want to call it) for a slinger. Maybe some of you know what that is.;)
