Fel-Pro Intake Gasket Question

Guys I will be re-installing my intake this weekend and need to know which gasket to use. I used the Fel-Pro MS96033 in the past. I am curious as to whether or not I should go with the #1200 gasket? Any reasons to switch? TIA, Mike
 
No need for the 1200. Plus you lose the valley pan and hot oil will splash up on the bottom of the intake. Hope this helps.
 
only if your heads are ported do you need the 1200 s,you can still use the center of a valley gasket with the 1200 s to keep the oilsplash off your intake.
 
Check out the Fel-Pro MS-96037(valley pan) . it's for 231 with a alum intake according to the Fel-Pro catalog. I think the ports are a exact match to the 1200's . The MS-96033 are a wee bit smaller then the 1200's .:)
 
KWIKR1, Is that the gasket that you are using?? My intake is ported a bit, still stock heads though, Would I benefit by going with your recommendation?? Thanks guys!!!;)

mine were port matched with 1200's. but the MS96033 line up not bad . They are a tad smaller . I'm pretty sure the MS96037(w/ valley pan) are a bang on match to the 1200's . If anybody knows anything about the MS96037 please chime in :).
 
If I remember correctly, both gaskets (96033-turbo and 96037-carb) are identical, with the only difference being the part number on the box. I opened up both boxes at Advance Auto Parts and found the same part, with the same part number stamped on the gasket. I can't remember which one of the box part numbers was actually on the gasket though. Point is they were the same.

One is for a turbo V6, and one is for a carbed V6, with the turbo V6 version (box number only) being more money. Needless to say, I went with the cheaper.
